AED DEFIBRILLATOR COURSE

In the UK, one person suffers a heart attack every two minutes but the majority could be saved if their heart was shocked back into rhythm. We passionately believe in improving AED access because it has been proven to save lives.

Duration:

4 Hours (half day) course

Suitable for staff working in environments where automated external defibrillators are available to use. The trainee will be able to demonstrate safe and appropriate practice when using an AED in accordance with Resuscitation Council (UK) guidelines. We believe passionately in improving AED access because it has been proven to save lives.

Course Content:

Delegates will receive training in a range of subjects, including:

• Treatment of an unconscious casualty.
• Resuscitation.
• Heart attacks.
• Getting to know the AED (any type).
• Operating the AED.
• Chain of survival
• CPR.
• Simulated resuscitation scenarios.
• Safe defibrillation practice.
• Documentation.

Assessment and certification

Continuous assessment by trainer.

Course Outcome:

On successful completion of the course, delegates will receive a certificate of competence, which is validate for twelve months. This course should be updated on a yearly basis for maximum skill's retention.
